This exhibition, organised as part of the ‘Beyoğlu Culture Road’ Festival, features 41 black-and-white photographs taken by Ara Güler between the 1950s and the 1980s, as well as some photographs by him that have never before been shown to the public.

The title of the exhibition has been taken from the Genoese word gallada, which means ‘the path that leads to the sea’. Also on view is ‘End of a Hero’, a 17- minute film made by Ara Güler in the 1970s in which he documents the dismantling of the battleship Yavuz.
