The ‘History Is Looking At You: Archaeology in the Photographs of Ara Güler’ exhibition is the first to be mounted at the Turkish Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Institute, opened in Gaziantep with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the European Union. The result of careful and painstaking work at the Ara Güler Museum and the Ara Güler Archives and Research Center, this exhibition (which is curated by Engin Özendes) brings together 132 of Ara Güler’s photographs of 20 archaeological sites in Turkey and of the Orkhon Inscriptions in Mongolia.
