This exhibition is being mounted at the Mausolos Exhibition Hall in Bodrum as one of the events organised by the Bodrum Maritime Museum to commemorate the 132nd anniversary of the birth of Halikarnas Balıkçısı – ‘The Fisherman of Halicarnassus’, a Turkish writer whose real name was Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı (1890-1973).

Consisting mainly of 20 portrait photographs of Kabaağaçlı, this exhibition bears witness to Ara Güler’s long-time friendship with him. Also on display are photographs of the writer in the company of other literary figures such as Samim Kocagöz and Hüsamettin Bozok, as well as contact prints, a letter from ‘The Fisherman of Halicarnassus’ to Ara Güler and a photograph dedicated to him.
