This exhibition, mounted in Afyonkarahisar with the support of Afyon Kocatepe University, is the result of a collaboration between the Ara Güler Museum and the M. Rıza Çerçel Centre for Culture and the Arts. Visitors and students are invited to view 46 photographs by Ara Güler, consisting partly of his black-and-white photographs of Istanbul and partly of colour photographs – never before shown to the public – that were taken by him during trips to Afyonkarahisar and the surrounding area in 1972, 1983 and 1992. This is the first exhibition to be put on in Afyonkarahisar by the Ara Güler Museum.
